The University of Auckland is seeking to establish a new campus in a central location that will better connect to the city and Grafton campuses. 

 

Architectus has been engaged by the University to produce a concept plan for the ex Lion Breweries site in Newmarket which will set a guiding framework for the redevelopment of the site.  

 

The University will use the site as the basis for long-term development of a mixed use campus, with space for purpose-built teaching and research facilities, student accommodation, business development and other facilities.

 

Sustainability:
–density of use and a balance of activities    
–good solar access    
–demonstration of innovation and sustainablility 
–re-use of existing buildings   
–public transport integration and walking and cycling provision   
–a campus-wide approach to energy and water that maximises efficiencies
